Photo competition “Europe in My Region”

The Competition
The Europe in My Region Competition aims to highlight the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities.

To take part, you have to enter the respective application in the European Commission’s facebook page and upload photos of a project clearly showing the billboard or plaque or poster with funding information and the EU flag somewhere in the picture. Feel free to be creative and include your impressions of the project and what it means to you.

The deadline for submitting your entry is 25 August 2014, noon Central European Summer Time.

Winners
The 100 photos which have received the most votes, will be entered into the jury of photography professionals selection alongside with 50 “wildcard” photos from the competition chosen by the jury. From this pool, the jury will select three winners. Voting begins on 27 August and ends on 8 September. Any Facebook user can vote, so participants can motivate their friends to do so! Winners will be announced by mid-September 2014.

Prize
Each winner will receive €1 000 to spend on digital camera equipment and a trip for two to Brussels during the European Week of Regions and Cities (6-9 October 2014).
