The legislative architecture of Cohesion Policy in the 2014-2020 period, includes:

• The Regulation laying down the Multiannual Financial Framework for the years 2014-2020.
• The General Regulation laying down common provisions for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF), the Cohesion Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).
• Separate Regulations for the ERDF, ESF, Cohesion Fund, EAFRD and EMFF.
• Regulations to support the European Territorial Cooperation goal and the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC).

In the field of employment and social policy, the Commission implements specific interventions, such as the continued operation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF), the establishment of the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI), the activation of the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived, the implementation of the Youth Employment Initiative.
