ESF Conference "Investing in people – the way forward"

The Conference "Investing in people – the way forward" took place on 15-16 February in Sofia, Bulgaria, as part of the Bulgarian Presidency's events program.

The conference is a key milestone in the consultation process on the future EU investment in people and a unique opportunity to reflect on the development of the social dimension of Europe, in the spirit of the Gothenburg declaration about the European Pillar of Social Rights.

The aim of the conference was to bring together representatives from EU institutions, national, regional, local public authorities, social partners, civil society organisations, academics as well as end-users and beneficiaries of the funds. It provided the opportunity to express views on the perceived priorities and expectations for the period post 2020 and to help shape the Commission's policy proposals.

With this event, the celebrations of the European Social Fund's 60 years anniversary were concluded.
