Farewell to Matoula Papoulia

27/4/2015

Matoula Papoulia (1971-2015)

Family, friends and colleagues said the last goodbye to Matoula Papoulia on Monday, April 20, at St. Basil’s Church in Tripoli.

Matoula worked in MOU from 2002.  Initially as an executive officer at the Managing Authority of  the Peloponnese ROP, continuing  since  2006 as an executive officer of  EYSEKT and from 2010 as Head of EYSEKT.

As Head of EYSEKT she worked with passion and vision to upgrade the role of the ESF coordination Authority, to highlight its role and strengthen its effectiveness. Those who worked with her knew and appreciated her dedication.

Matoula was an “ESF person” and through her work she wanted to offer to the common good, to be helpful. But above all she was a person with kindness and goodness and always kept her smile; even during the biggest adversities ...

We will always remember that smile. We will remember our Matoula, our friend, her sweet and pleasant disposition, the kindness of her soul that have touched us and hereinafter live indelibly in our memory.

The failing of her heart deprived her from us prematurely.  And as mentioned by her beloved poet G. Seferis "... and here came the great deprivation, along with the coming of this spring …"

Matoula, we will always miss you. EYSEKT will never be the same without you.

Your colleagues from EYSEKT

The 40days memorial service will be held at the St. Basil Church in Tripoli on Sunday May 24 at 9:30 PM.
